Bruce Holden was born into an Optical family. He has five brothers, all of whom were Opticians practicing at the same time. Bruce did his training in Modesto, California where he trained in all aspects of optical dispensing. In 1972, he moved to Chico, California and opened his first Optical practice. He later opened up two other Optical businesses in the greater Chico area.

He sold all three practices in 1985 and began specializing in helping people whowere very sensitive to sunlight. He developed a new technique to greatly reduce glare to enable those patients with extreme sensitivity to go outdoors in the daylight to perform normal, everyday functions.

Concurrently, he purchased a stainless-steel mold for safety glasses and sunglasses that could be used by his patients that were very light sensitive. The stainless-steel mold had a dual purpose, and the optics were critical for either market. He designed and commissioned the mold maker to build the mold with perfect, sharp, clear, pristine optics, something very difficult to do using stainless steel rather than plastic or glass.

It is an uncontestable fact that he has the only mold in existence that can produce optically pure, curved, safety lenses in mass quantities at a reasonable price.

All other safety glass manufacturers use “formed optics” in their products. We are the only lens manufacturer to have ground in Optics (the purest form of optics made) and our products are made in America!

Since Americans wants to wean ourselves away from foreign made products, it is very important to offer safety glasses, goggles, and shields that have perfect, pristine optics built into them.
